The Dark Navy Blue and Deep Hot Pink colors with a touch of hot pink sparkle coupled with overcast skies was a perfect combination to remember loved ones passed for this early summer wedding at The Lookout Lodge in Snohomish, WA. (74 degrees and a few sprinkles)
Rainy weddings in Snohomish can still be fun!
Weddings are a time to share your families love, but also a time to remember those no longer here to join the epic event. Respectfully recollecting mom and grandma during overcast skies wedding ceremony was a simple bouquet of flowers sitting on the front row log seats. One for where grandma would have lovingly taken her seat to watch her granddaughter be betrothed to the man of her dreams. The other for mom, proudly where she would have taken her seat feeling a gamut of emotions for her daughter on her wedding day. She would have been visualizing a life filled with endearment, sorrow, love, passion and a multitude of overwhelming emotions that accompany life’s journey as husband and wife. A simple sign lay between the bouquets. “I know you would be here but heaven is just so far away.” Mom and grandma were a part of Jason and Kali’s wedding in the hearts of everyone in attendance.
Dad was especially touched with a sense of delight, yet a yearning for mom to be there. With the help of The Lookout Lodge Professional Wedding and Event Planner, Jamie DeLong, dad got his boutonniere on secure and straight. Jamie not only facilitates the coordination and organization of the day, but she was also a source of compassion and encouragement for dad to walk his baby girl down the aisle with the memory of mom surrounding them in love. Mom and grandma were commemorated at the reception with a humble memory table full of pictures and a simple sentiment. “Wish You Were Here!”
Jason and Kali had fun signs strategically placed around the venue. “Grow old with me, the best is yet to come.” They added several exceptionally crafted decor items like a unique aisle railing of wood posts and rope. A handmade massive cupcake stand held a variety of sweet treats. Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry filled cupcakes enjoyed and eaten by all. Lots of fun yard games were available to keep both kids and adults thourghly enjoying the outdoors. Horseshoes, Oversized Jenga, Spike Ball, Ladder Ball, Corn Hole, Bocce Ball and Lawn Darts.
The grand finale was a private sunset photo shoot with overcast skies. Alex with Rebecca Jane Photography orchestrated the twilight photographic moment of the evening posing the couple on a custom settee as the light of day and the memories of mom and grandma faded into the night.
